Why Maryland?
Women's Soccer

Since its first varsity season in 1987, Maryland women's soccer has grown to become a force in the NCAA Soccer landscape.

Maryland has an established tradition of NCAA Tournament success, qualifying for 13 NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the Sweet 16.

Maryland has been home to some of the nation's top talent over the years, including 16 All-Americans, 25 United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections and 29 All-Conference selections.

Since its opening in 1995, state-of-the-art Ludwig Field has been the home of Terrapin women's soccer. Over the years, Ludwig has featured one of the top game experience atmospheres in all of college soccer and a new state-of-the-art stadium development project is currently underway.

The women's soccer program has demonstrated excellence not only on the field but in the classroom garnering 95 Academic All-Big selections since 2015. Rachelle Beanlands ('16) received the conference's most exclusive honor in 2016 when she was named Maryland's Big Ten Medal of Honor awardee. Darby Moore ('20) was one of just 13 student-athletes nationally to receive an NCAA Women's Enhancement Graduate Scholarship in 2020.
