Why Maryland?
Women's Golf

Over the last 20 years, the Maryland Women's golf program has seen incredible growth, talent and competition. The team has taken home nearly 20 team titles, including their win at the 2020 Hurricane Invitational, beating six Top 50 teams along the way.

Maryland has also proved the individual success of its Terps, with over 10 titles on the record book:

The Terps have made ten NCAA regional appearances. Most recently, the team qualified for back-to-back NCAA regionals (‘19 & ‘21) and advanced to the national championship in 2021.

In the seven seasons since joining the Big Ten Conference, Maryland has produced seven All-Conference and two All-Big Ten Championship Team players, along with a Big Ten Mary Fossum Award Winner (Juliet Vongphoumy, ’15).

Since arriving in College Park in 2019, Kelly Hovland has helped lead the women's golf program to unprecedented success. The Terps have consistently been ranked in the Top 40 over the last two years, including their highest ranking in program history at No. 12. Maryland also advanced to the national championship for the first time in 2021 and finished the season ranked #20 in the country.

The state of the art facility indoor performance center will allow our players to utilize technology in a weather-controlled environment to develop their games. This investment in the Maryland golf programs will elevate both programs on the national level and prepare our players to compete for championships.
