Why Maryland?
Gymnastics

Over its 47-year history, the Maryland Gymnastics has made a tremendous impact in both the EAGL and Big Ten under the guidance of Head Coaches Bob and Brett Nelligan. The Gymnastics program has made 27 NCAA Regionals appearances and prides itself on the high standards of the academic and athletic achievement of its student-athletes.

Maryland Gymnastics is a program dedicated to building strong, capable, and confident women:

The Maryland Gymnastics program provides the essential resources necessary to guide each individual to achieve excellence in the classroom. It is our goal to prepare student-athletes for life beyond gymnastics by ensuring each member of our program earn their respective degrees and is well equipped to start their professional careers.

The University’s location provides student-athletes with a variety of valuable networking opportunities and competitive internships in the DMV region. Being located just under 10 miles outside the nation’s capital, Maryland provides its student-athletes with unique opportunities to intern and network at the top level in their respective field.

Maryland Gymnastics competes in the Big Ten, one of the most competitive leagues in the NCAA, finishing the 2023 season with siz teams ranked in the top 25. Big Ten Gymnastics is the only conference that competes twice a season on podium at Big Ten Championships and the annual Big Five meet.

The Maryland Gymnastics program welcomes its gymnasts into a diverse and inclusive environment geared towards an accepting and progressive team mentality. As one of the most diverse programs in NCAA gymnastics, the coaches, trainers, staff and teammates are united in order to create a healthy atmosphere.

The GymTerps are coming off an excellent 2023 campaign having finished the season ranked No. 23 in the nation, the Terps’s highest season-ending ranking since 2013.
