The trophy case in College Park is filled with hardware as Maryland has become a staple on Memorial Day Weekend, winning 15 National Championships and participating in 28 Final Fours, including 12 of the last 14. The Terps have won 12 of the last 28 championships, including seven straight from 1995-01.
The numbers speak for themselves: 15 National Championships, 28 Final Fours, 33 Consecutive Postseason Appearances, 79 NCAA Tournament Wins, and 31 Conference Championships.
Maryland is Tewaaraton University, winning the prestigious award a nation-best nine times, and eight times since 2010. Some of the best to ever play the game have suited up for the Terps, including the only player to ever win the Tewaaraton three times: Taylor Cummings, the first player to win the award: Jen Adams, two-time winner Katie Schwarzmann, and the first goalie to ever hoist the trophy: Megan Taylor.
Since Cathy Reese took over in 2007, Maryland has dominated the women’s lacrosse landscape as the 1998 Maryland alum and National Lacrosse Hall of Famer has developed a culture built on giving her student-athletes the best four years of their lives.
