9th at Big Ten Championship

  • The Maryland women’s golf team jumped four spots at the Big Ten Championship, finishing ninth in the team standings at TPC River’s Bend in Maineville, Ohio.
  • Freshman Xiaolin Tian (74-81-75), senior Panitta Yusabai (81-75-74) and sophomore Ludovica Scandroglio (83-74-73) finished tied for 35th to lead the Terps. Scandroglio’s 73 round total on Sunday was the team’s individual low for the championship.
  • Maryland shot a school-record low 281 in the second round of the Henssler Intercollegiate on March 27.
  • Yusabai captured the Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 12-14 (72-73-70--215). For her championship effort, she was tabbed BIg Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week.
  • Tian finished with the seventh-best season scoring average (74.52) while Yusabai also cracked the top 10, in ninth (74.88).
  • Seniors Alexandra Papell and Yusabai also placed in the top 10 in career scoring average in Maryland women’s golf history. Papell ranks fourth (76.49) and Yusabai is ninth (77.18).
