Big Ten: 13th

  • The 2017 season saw several Maryland track and field athletes make their way into the program’s all-time top-10 lists, including 2017 NCAA Championship qualifier Greg Thompson.
  • Thompson had a stand out year for the Terps in his first collegiate season, breaking Alan Baginski's 34-year school record in the discus with a throw of 197-7 at the Kehoe Twilight Meet. Thompson was named the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts, and earned a trip to the NCAA East Regional.
  • Patrick Hanley (8:40.26) and Aaron Barlev (8:44.43) both ran their way into the top-10 in the men’s 3000,
