NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Champions

  • The Maryland men’s lacrosse team reached the pinnacle of the the lacrosse world by winning its first National Championship since 1975 with a 9-6 victory over Ohio State. It was the Terps sixth Final Four appearance in the last seven seasons.
  • Maryland’s season also included Big Ten Conference regular season and tournament titles. In three seasons in the Big Ten, the Terps have won three regular season titles and two tournament titles.
  • The Terps finished 16-3 overall and had the No. 1 RPI and the No. 1 overall strength of schedule. Head coach John Tillman was named Big Ten Coach of the Year.
  • The season was highlighted individually by Matt Rambo, who totaled 87 points en route to becoming Maryland’s first-ever Tewaaraton recipient. Rambo also earned the Enners Award (nation’s top player) and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. Rambo set Maryland’s career records for both points (257) and goals (155).
  • In total, Maryland had a nation’s best nine USILA All-Americans selected, including four first teamers: Matt Rambo, Tim Muller, Connor Kelly and Isaiah Davis-Allen.
