Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Champions

  • The Terrapins continued their dominance in the Big Ten, winning their second straight Big Ten regular season title and their first Big Ten tournament title.  Maryland earned a record of 19-4 overall and went a perfect 8-0 in league play.  The Terps went on a 17-game win streak over the course of the season from mid-September through the NCAA Tournament.
  • Sarah Sprink, Anna Dessoye, Linnea Gonzales and Welma Luus all earned NFHCA All-America honors, as well as All-Big Ten honors. Sprink was named Big Ten Player of the Year, Gonzales was named Big Ten Freshman of the year and head coach Missy Meharg was voted Big Ten Coach of the Year.
  • Seven members of the team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s National Academic Squad. As a team, the Terrapins were named a National Academic Team for their performance in the classroom. Brooke Adler, Marissa Cutry, Julie Duncan, Carrie Hanks, Delaney Leathers, Welma Luus and Sarah Sprink were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
