Overall: 27-27 • Big Ten: 9-14
• In her first season at the helm of the Maryland softball team, Courtney Scott Deifel led the Terps to a strong bounce back season in the Big Ten. The team finished an even 27-27 on the season and 9-14 in the competitive conference.
• Senior Shannon Bustillos had a stellar senior campaign, breaking the all-time Maryland home runs and RBI record in the final series of the season against Michigan State. The Anaheim, Calif. native also was awarded the prestigious NCAA Ethnic Minority Postgraduate Scholarship and was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team and All-Defensive team.
• The team shattered the single-season home runs record at Maryland with 69 and ranked in the top 30 nationally in slugging percentage, scoring, home runs and doubles.
• Lindsey Schmeiser had a fantastic year at the plate, breaking the single season doubles record in Maryland history, while hitting .425 in conference play. She was named to the All-Big Ten First Team for her efforts and at one point during the season had a 23-game hit streak going.
• Erin Pronobis recieved All-Big Ten Second Team honors in addition to NFCA All-Midwest Region Third Team honors. Corey Schwartz joined Pronobis with NFCA All-Midwest Region Third Team honors.
• In its first Big Ten game, the Terps overcame a 10-run deficit to defeat Iowa, 14-13. The team had nine seventh inning comebacks, with six coming in walk-off fashion.
