• Maryland fought through injuries and uncertainty to post a 5-6-6 mark in its first season in a competitive Big Ten Conference.

• Senior Shade Pratt was sensational in her final season with the Terps, playing all three field positions throughout the season and leading the team in goals and tying for the team lead in points. After the season, Pratt was selected in the third round of the NWSL Collegiate Draft by Sky Blue FC.

• Junior left back Shannon Collins led the squad in assists with six and tied Pratt for the team lead in points.

• Head coach Jonathan Morgan never had the luxury of fielding the team he envisioned from the start. Redshirt sophomore Alexis Prior-Brown, who missed the entire 2013 season, was the team's best player during spring training, but suffered a knee injury and never saw the pitch in 2014. Two other attacking personalities, redshirt sophomore Gabby Galanti and redshirt freshman Alex Anthony, also missed significant time due to injuries and never found their stride. The midfield and back line weren't immune to the injury bug as sophomore midfielder Lauren Berman missed the final 12 matches due to a concussion, while starting junior center back Erika Nelson also missed several matches.

• Junior goalkeeper Rachelle Beanlands was terrific in net for the Terps, posting a 0.86 goals-against average and was also a success in the classroom earning Academic All-District honors from CoSIDA.

• Following the season, Maryland's coaching staff saw some turnover with assistant coach Eric Golz leaving to become the head coach at Illinpis State. That move opened up a spot that Coach Morgan filled with local product Kevin Dempsey, who comes to College Park after an extremely successful coaching stint at LSU.
