Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year, Big Ten Triple Jump Champion, All-Big Ten
• After a successful indoor season, Amber Melville and Thea LaFond once again led Maryland in the spring. Melville was the outdoor high jump champion at the Big Ten Championships while LaFond was the outdoor triple jump champion and Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year.
• Senior Pat Cole broke the program record in the hammer throw three times in the spring, finishing his career with a 199’10” throw at the annual Kehoe Twilight meet.
• Eight Terps qualified for the outdoor NCAA Regionals, including Thea LaFond, Amber Melville and Peyton Wade in the jumps. Chioma Onyekwere competed in the shot put and discus while Micha Powell qualified for the 400m and Myah Hicks competed in the 800m. On the men’s side, Jakub Zivek competed in the 1500m while Pat Cole qualified for hammer throw.
• Jakub Zivec finished fifth at regionals to advance to the NCAA Finals in the 1500m run.
