2014-15 REVIEW

JULIET VONGPHOUMY

Juliet Vongphoumy finished her storied Terrapin career with a 22nd-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Women’s Golf Raleigh Regionals in early May at Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the campus of NC State.

“I'm very proud of Juliet's performance this season,” first year head coach Diana Cantu said. “Coach Simpson and I are excited to see what unfolds for her in the future.  It was a pleasure and an honor being Juliet's coach during her senior year. She will be missed but she will certainly leave a lasting footprint with her achievements and tremendous work ethic.”

Vongphoumy – arguably one of the top female golfers in Maryland history - won the Mary Fossum Award as the conference player with the lowest stroke average relative to par this season and she tied for second at the Big Ten Women’s Golf Championship at the Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis. She was also tagged a First Team All-Big Ten selection and won the league’s sportsmanship award.

Vongphoumy holds the school record with an 8-under par which she accomplished as a junior at the Web.com Intercollegiate. The two-time Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week was also a two-time All-ACC selection during her time in College Park.
