About The Victory Circle
The Victory Circle, a leadership giving society for those who make outright or pledged gifts of $50,000 or more through the Terrapin Club, is the home for those who are committed to building a championship culture at Maryland Athletics.
It was founded in 2019 and today boasts more than 220 members across 16 states and Washington D.C. Those in the Victory Circle empower Maryland Athletics to recruit, develop and graduate world-class athletes, students and leaders, and provide the resources to put the Terps in position to win and compete for conference and national championships.
Investments include endowments for student-athlete scholarships and programs, facilities enhancements, and unrestricted support, among others.
Membership
Membership for an outright or pledged gift in the Victory Circle begins when a gift is made and lasts for five years, which coincides with the maximum length of a pledged gift. Membership for a planned gift lasts for the life of the member. Additionally, a minimum annual fund donation of $2,200 is recommended.

The Victory Circle celebrates donors who make outright or pledged gifts in support of all major gift areas, including support for capital projects, endowments, program enhancements, and planned gifts.
Endowments
Endowed funds at the University of Maryland provide perpetual resources for Maryland Athletics and can be utilized to help fund scholarships, coaching positions, or provide operational support.
When an endowment is created, the gift is a permanent one. Since these gifts live on in perpetuity, they are a meaningful way for donors to leave a lasting legacy with Maryland Athletics and the University of Maryland.
Program Enhancements
Program enhancing gifts are key to the success of Maryland Athletics. Program enhancing gifts include gifts to support the Athletic Director’s Fund, sport specific giving initiatives, and qualifying gifts when purchasing a suite or premium seating opportunity.
Planned Giving
Through your estate or financial plans, you can meet your current philanthropic goals, leave your legacy with Maryland Athletics, and extend your generosity well into the future. As an added benefit, Victory Circle membership for a planned gift lasts for the life of the member.
