BARRY GOSSETT
Barry P. Gossett, has been a supporter of the athletics program for more than 47 years. His years of service and dedicated support to the University of Maryland has been exemplified through his volunteer work as a member of the Terrapin Club Board of Directors, as former chair of the UMCP Foundation Board, and through the former fundraising board, the Maryland Educational Foundation. Barry and his late wife, Mary, have generously supported student-athletes scholarships and facility renovation projects throughout the years. Their most recent gift for $21.25 million helped establish the Barry and Mary Gossett Center for Academic and Personal Excellence. This investment, one of the largest in the history of the University of Maryland, supports foundational programs and services that empower student-athletes to become impactful global citizens and make a positive transition to life after college. For his decades of dedicated support and commitment to the student-athletes, coaches and programs of Maryland Athletics, we are pleased to honor Barry P. Gossett as the 2019 One Maryland Award recipient.
