CLEO LONG-THOMAS

Cleo Long-Thomas arrived at Maryland in 1987. For her first three years, she worked n campus with the Graduate School. In 1990, she made the switch to athletics. She worked as an administrative assistant for Men's Basketball where she worked closely with Gary Williams and all the student-athletes. Former Basketball standout Walt Willimas could never remember her full name when he addressed her, so he always referred to her as just "Ms. Cleo" a name that stuck. When Gary Williams retired, Ms. Cleo moved to the Administrative Suite. After 5 more years of service, Ms. Cleo retired in 2016.
