Fifteen Maryland football seniors are preparing to play their final game in a Terrapin uniform on Saturday at Michigan State. Before they do, each looked back at their favorite memory as a Terp and gave some thought as to what they'll miss the most about Maryland.
My first game playing was my Redshirt Freshman year against Ohio State. I was playing kick return and Ty Johnson took one back to the house and it was just the best moments in my career. My favorite game was definitely the second time we played Texas. Just everything we went through all summer and losing our brother Jordan, we got to come out for the second time and beat them, it was a huge moment. What I’ll Miss the Most About Maryland:
The thing I’ll most most about being a Terp is just the locker room. Being able to come in no matter if you’re having good or bad day and be surrounded by your brothers, the guys that you spend all the time with and that you love.
Probably seeing my family and my friends, real good friends. Some friends couldn’t be here but they were here in spirit, but probably seeing my family and friends on the sideline, cheering for me.What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
The locker room, being as close with my brothers as possible.
Other than hanging out with teammates and friends, probably beating Texas at Texas. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
The people, the relationships.
My favorite memory while being a Terp, even though we lost, probably the Ohio State game. That was just a blast to be a part of.What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
The FOOD!
I think my favorite memory is the Indiana game three years ago, when we had the yellow jerseys. We weren’t winning most of the game but we all just knew we were going to win at the end. It was a great feeling that night. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
Probably the routine. The routine of working out and practicing, and just being around my brothers and teammates, I’ll probably miss that the most.
My favorite memory of being a Terp is my freshman year, getting my first career start against Minnesota. I had a really good game and it was also my 19th birthday. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
The thing I’m going to miss the most is just being around the guys and the coaches and my team. I really love this team and I’m going to miss it.
Meeting all the good people that I have met. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
Just being around the guys, having conversations with them everyday and seeing them.
My favorite memory is actually my last camp. Just going through that grind and that struggle with your teammates and seeing the results. Obviously not the season I expected, but very early on you see the work that we did in camp, and the sacrifice that we did all season to build up to this season. Yeah, it would have to be camp because that’s when you become closer as a family and as a team. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
I’m going to miss my teammates, the chemistry. Obviously just hanging out, that locker room, it’s something that can’t be replaced, so I would definitely say my teammates.
My favorite memory at Maryland has to be going 2-0 against Texas. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
I will miss the locker room the most. I made a lot of good friends here. We’ve got a lot of good relationships on the team and hopefully we can carry them on through life.
My favorite memory while being a Terp was in 2018 when we beat Texas in the first game of the season. That was a real good memory just because of everything we had been through for us to stick together and start the season off like that, I felt like it was good. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
Just the camaraderie, just being around the players man, laughing everyday. Being around guys like Deon (Jones), (Vincent) Flythe, all my friends and all my guys. It’s just going to be a different experience.
My favorite memory of being at Maryland was when we beat #21 Syracuse at home for the second game in The Shell. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
What I’ll miss most is the resources and relationships that Maryland has brought to me.
My favorite memory is beating Texas at FedEx Field, and then waving that 79 flag at the end. It just felt like we’d all put so much into that for one cause and one purpose for Jordan, and we got it done. That’s definitely my best memory. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
I’m just going to miss the locker room. Everyday you get to show up and play football with your best friends, and you get to live in the dorms with your best friends, and you get to go out to practice everyday. That’s definitely what I’m going to miss, the camaraderie and the brotherhood that comes along with being on the team.
My most memorable moment was me receiving my scholarship during training camp. It was just a big relief and a lot of weight off my shoulders. It was just a great moment and a great feeling. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
What I’ll miss the most is my brothers, my teammates, and all the great people I got to meet. Like I said, it’s a family, and a family that will last forever.
Definitely during camp when we went to the Ravens game and they awarded Bruce with a scholarship. I thought that was pretty cool. Especially at the end of camp when everyone is stressed out, so it was definitely a great moment. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
Definitely just being with the guys. I felt like everyone is super close and relaxed and it’s just a good group to be around. We’ve had good times in the locker room so I’ll definitely miss that the most.
My favorite memory while being a Terp is probably just coming into the locker room after a win and singing the fight song, and just all the guys that have come through in the past. My freshman year a lot of the seniors moved on, but then came back for games, so that’s always fun to see those guys and see how the team has progressed over the years. My favorite play is probably my freshman year during the Rutgers game when I got called into the game to come make a kick late in the game and I converted, and that was definitely my favorite play. The whole team was jacked up on the sideline when it went in, so they were happy about that one. What I’ll Miss The Most About Maryland:
At the end of the day I know some of these guys, we might move on, but I know they’ll always have my back if I need them. If I needed to call somebody for support or something, I know that I’ll always have guys that I can call up and talk to.
