WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
“Maryland’s first recruiting class under Mike Locksley is small, but it certainly isn’t indicative of what the future recruiting classes will look like. The Terps addressed some key areas of need in this cycle, adding some important talent in the secondary and along the defensive line. Offensively, Maryland reeled in local four-star wide receiver Isaiah Hazel, a prospect that figures prominently into the future of Mike Locksley’s offense. Locksley is an elite recruiter that knows how to turn on-field success into momentum on the recruiting trail so expect each recruiting class to be better than the last.”

“Mike Locksley came to Maryland at the right time with the right set of tools to help build this Terps program. Locksley is known for being an excellent recruiter and, more importantly, an exceptional relationship builder with prospects and their families. That always translates on the recruiting trail and has produced some big names on the list of recruits he has been able to help sign at both Maryland and Alabama. Locksley, along with the staff he has put together, already have deep roots around the DMV area and are creating a buzz and big push to keep those top prospects home. This 2019 class is an excellent start to the foundation of what this staff is building towards, with over half of the signed prospects committing after Locksley was hired. Maryland fans should be excited about the future of recruiting at Maryland.”

“Mike Locksley brings at least two things of prominence to Maryland. One, his offensive expertise. He’s a leading authority on the spread attack, which has taken over college football. Mike is also one of the top recruiters in the entire country. In recent years, we’ve seen Maryland’s recruiting classes ranked No. 18 and No. 28 in the country, and I would expect that to be the norm once Mike gets fully settled in College Park. During those years when Maryland’s recruiting classes have ranked extremely high nationally, one of the major reasons was because of the success the Terps had recruiting the DMV. And if there’s anyone that can recruit the DMV at a high level, it’s Mike Locksley because of his background and connection to that area. With limited time, Locksley and his staff put together a solid class, but this is just the tip of the iceberg for what he can accomplish there.”
