GARY COLLINS

Consensus All-American (1961)

Gary Collins was one of the most decorated wide receivers to ever wear a Terps uniform. Collins was an All-Conference player for both the 1960 and 1961 seasons, and a consensus All-American during the 1961 season.

During his All-American season, he made the key touchdown catch that led the Terps to a 22-21 upset victory over then #7 Syracuse.

This Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame inductee (’97) went on to have a fantastic NFL career racking up 70 touchdowns and a Championship MVP as his Browns defeated the Colts in 1964.
