E.J. HENDERSON

Consensus All-American (2001 & 2002)

Perhaps the best linebacker to ever put on a Maryland uniform, E.J. Henderson is one of the most decorated Terps of all time. He is the only Maryland player to ever be a two-time consensus All-American. He was also a two-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Chuck Bednarik Award recipient, and a Butkus Award winner.

Henderson owns three NCAA records including career total tackles per game (12.5), season unassisted tackles (135), and season unassisted tackles per game (8.8).

His Terrapin career was capped off with a Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl victory as the Terps dismantled Tennessee 30-3. His performance in the game earned him the bowl’s MVP award.

He was later drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and played eight season in the NFL, recording over 750 tackles.
