Maryland Football wins the University’s FIRST-EVER National Championship
The Terrapins won the school's first-ever major national title and were also the first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference champion after an undefeated, untied regular season. Maryland lost to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, but the Associated Press and United Press International national titles had already been awarded.
